Depending on who you speak to, or what news outlet you choose..these are the worst of times. Just two months ago all of us were moving at break neck speeds to get what needed to be done to keep are economy rolling and our politicians in our rear view mirror. Seamlessly, in a matter of less than sixty days, it has almost come to a grinding halt for some. Now, politicians, pundits and the average Joe spend countless hours a day telling us it will get worse before it gets better..I’m no expert, but I am half a century aged and feel confident we will get through this. On the flip side it is a cautionary tale, and you must do what you must do to stay healthy, in a world where safety is paramount anyhow. Quite frankly you have a hobby, trade, part time gig, that by now you can use to help firm up these times that others may be without, or don not know how to carry on.  Your only new reality is…you may need to learn how to scrap alone.

Bottom line is, I go out I still see people working, some in groups, some alone..lets face it, it only takes one person to pas on Covid – 19 to all of your family. With that said…maybe it is best to go it alone. Plus..paying a laborer for the help cuts into to profits and maybe next months mortgage or rent check. So pre plan your destinations. Call businesses before just showing up. Bring your finds to a central location that you can separate and clean your scrap alone and not a large group. Wear your protective gear like armor. If your in a region where cases are high, the last thing you want to do is get an injury that leads you to the ER, where it may just be the wild west of sickness.

Just remember, this to shall pass, and you have a nice income producing hustle that most people wouldn’t know how to start. You won’t be starving or homeless this spring…just working solo.
