No Work Shutdown for Scrap Metal

No Work Shutdown for Scrap Metal

It has been a pretty tough time for some. Having to hunker down, no social life and very little money coming in. Unfortunate for most, but for the daily scrap metal picker, it has been a bit of a boon of recent days. Maybe you have noticed it, maybe you have not. It really depends on your route and how you go about the hunt for your metals. Over all though, there has been no work shutdown for scrap metal enthusiast.

No Work Shutdown for Scrap Metal

I mean, it actually would make sense, as the work force goes, then scrap metal goes. Well, truth be known there are a couple of ways to look at it. First of all, people confined to their homes tend (or have tended to do) is clean house. You never notice how much junk you have until you have had to sit i the same four rooms for six to seven weeks straight.  That alone has had folks getting rid of the old. From dishwashers to lighting fixtures, a small remodeling movement has started. Most of these items, since most people are stuck at home and either will not or just feel they should not, seem to be dumping these items on the front curb for pick up. Thank you very much, Mr. & Mrs. John Q Public.

Out With the Old, In With the New

Obviously, with people getting rid of the old, it is time for the new. If you haven’t noticed yet, online purchasing has been a steady occupation for many people sequestered to their homes…whether they needed it or not. Small fixtures, many electric or made of metal have been replaced with shiny new objects to excite us until we can get back to everyday life.

So when the new comes in, generally the old goes out. If your a full time scrap metal picker, make sure to comb those extra blocks daily, looking for that appliance that just didn’t make the cut.
