Scrap Metal is Educational and Fun

Scrap Metal is Educational and Fun

You probably never thought you would hear that..”scrap metal is educational and fun”. It sounds more like an ad for net weeks Bill Nye the Science Guy episode. Or just a hokey line to get someones attention. So maybe, just we needed just a little hokeyness to get you to dart your eyes away from Covid 19, possible summertime with no summertime fun or the dreaded Murder Hornets. Hopefully by the time you read this, normalcy will be on the horizon. Just in case it isn’t and you have to spend the summer watching your kids who can’t swim, play six feet away, or hit a theme or water park this summer..well then and only then can we make scrap metal fun and educational.

Scrap Metal is Educational and Fun

Please understand, the two words do not necessarily mean everything educational about scraping will be fun, nor will all fun be educational. So let’s take educational into consideration first. Some of the key points of scrapping is knowing your products such as ferrous and non ferrous metals. Depending on the age of your kids, they may just think it’s a magic trick, that some metals will stick to a magnet..and well..some won’t. Either way, having your kids check some metals from time to time (scientifically with a magnet) might actually teach them something and help kill the time.

The second part that may be educational with a hint of fun, might be just the driving and sorting of local scrap in neighborhoods..those hours of your route or across town to pick up a fridge or washer and dryer, might be something your kids want to get involved in.

Whatever your particular case may be with your kids, make it fun and as exciting as possible, because if there is one thing I’m sure of… murder hornets never will be.
